It’s a nice addition to any winter scene that you may be creating this time of the year. I do like the use of the splat gears for the spinning function and it works fairly well. Overall, the LEGO Seasonal Ice Skating Rink (40416) is a neat gift with purchase set but the downside to it is not with the set itself, but finding products to purchase to reach the $150 threshold because there’s not that much left in stock because of Black Friday. There’s also an angled box to store the skates. The back side of the skating rink has a little beverage stand that is surrounded by a couple of trees. There’s one gear on the right side to rotate which spins the smaller gears around the fountain. On to the skating rink, the base of it uses a number of splat gear pieces in teal to make the skates spin around on the finished product. Both minifigures have a pair of ice skates to use. She also has a double-sided head with a smile on one side and a sleeping expression on the other. The girl wears a white sweater with some sand green snowflake printing. He wears a blue beanie to cover up the other face. He has a double-sided head with a smile on one side and a smirk on the other. The boy has on a red sweater with a white snowflake pattern. The set has 304 pieces and it includes two minifigures. You can get it for free until December 24 with purchases of $150 or more but unfortunately, it’ll be harder to find anything to purchase due to the Black Friday aftermath.
